If you are going to report someone, don't tell them, just do it silently.

First, you can ask them kindly to stop by saying something such as "Hey there! Will you please stop spamming?", if they don't stop then just report and move on.

People on OS can be 'brats'. Some only get on here to cause trouble and gain attention because they can. Don't pay attention to them. Like @sleepyjess said, if you are going to report them, do it silently. Don't announce that you will because if you do, they will want to report you first out of fear of getting in trouble. There are many spammers on OS. Try to ignore them the best you can. Anyways, have a good day!
