a) first of all the map ratio is given by\[Map\ ratio=\frac{length\ on\ map}{actual\ length}\]remember to convert the 1.2km to centimeters which is 120000cm the answer you will get means \[1cm\ actual\ length\ equals \ the\ answer\] therefore map ratio is\[1:\ answer(n)\] b)convert the \[1.6km^{2}\ to\ cm^{2}\] that is \[1km^2 = 1\times 10^{10} cm\] so\[1.6\times1\times10^{10}=1.6\times 10^{10} cm^{2}\] from the map ratio the area on the map will be \[n \times (1.6\times 10^{10})\ cm^{2}\]
