An artist is designing a kite like the one show below. Calculate the area to determine how much material she will need to create the kite. A kite with two top triangles with height of 5 inches and a base 7.5 inches. The bottom two triangles share the base but have a height labeled 14 inches. 142.5 square inches 105 square inches 37.5 square inches 34 square inches @confluxepic @lalithavasanth

From fig,we can say that lower and upper two triangles are of equal area....so,area of one lower triangle is (7.5)(5) / 2 = 105/2.....since,area=(base x height) / 2.....but there r 2 upper triangles...so,double the area of lower triangle = 2(105)/2= 105.....similarly,we get area of two upper triangles = 37.5.total area = 105 + 37.5 = 142.5

but there r 2 lower triangles*
