A clause is a group of words with a subject and a verb. A noun clause, then, would be a clause that acts like a noun. So, you must ask yourself, what clause in your sample is acting like a noun? To find that, you need to ask, what do nouns do? They can, for example, be subjects or direct object. In your example, the main clause is I heard. The questions now is, "I heard" what? The answer to that question would be your direct object. In this example, "that the book is set to release soon" answers the question I heard what? Does that make sense?
