Shiloh has to earn at least $200 to meet her fundraising goal. She has only 100 cakes that she plans to sell at $5 each. Which inequality shows the number of cakes, x, Shiloh can sell to meet her goal? 20 ≤ x ≤ 200 40 ≤ x ≤ 100 100 ≤ x ≤ 200 20 ≤ x ≤ 100

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

you still here @Mehek14

Mehek (mehek14):

yes

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

We know that Shiloh can only sell a maximum of 100 cakes, so the 1st and 3rd choices are ruled out. Shiloh wants to sell AT LEAST x # of cakes to meet her $200 goal. Given that her earnings from selling x # of cakes is (price) x (#of cakes sold) = 5x, then solve: 5x is greater than or equal to 200 (since she wants AT LEAST $200).

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Solving that inequality gives us x must be greater than or equal to 40. So I would think the answer is: 40 ≤ x ≤ 100

Mehek (mehek14):

thanks a lot ☺
