Hi Fellas! Can someone help me balance some equations? Please Please Please! Sr+P4
\[Sr+P4\]
N2+S8 B+I2
@Preetha
\[Sr+P4\rightarrow \]
@Kainui
would it be 2Sr3P2?
Is this what you mean?\[Sr+P_4\rightarrow 2Sr_3P_2\]
yes
Was I right? or not at all?
and if I am right, can you help me with this one? \[N2+S8 \rightarrow \]
Well not quite, you need to have the sides add up to the same amounts. Maybe this picture will help you understand, |dw:1421612316265:dw| So here I just made up some shapes and we can pretend they're elements, and when we combine them, the total number of them is the same as before, we've just moved them around! So the total number on the left has to be the same as the right, \[3 Sq+1 Tr\rightarrow Sq_3Tr\] So here I just used Sq to be Squares and Tr to be Triangles, and if you count them up on both sides, they're equal, it's just the 3Sq are separate on the left and all joined in with a single triangle to make the whole "molecule" on the right. Does that help?
