\(\large\color{slate}{\displaystyle\lim_{x \rightarrow ~1}f(x)}\) is what you need. To find \(\large\color{slate}{\displaystyle\lim_{x \rightarrow ~1^-}f(x)}\) plug in 1, into x-1. To find \(\large\color{slate}{\displaystyle\lim_{x \rightarrow ~1^+}f(x)}\) plug in 1 into x+7
