Given the equation 3x - 4y = 8, which equation below would cause a consistent-dependent system? 3x + 4y = -8 6x - 8y = 12 9x - 12y = 24 16x + 12y = -10

OpenStudy (danjs):

same process as the last question

OpenStudy (danjs):

6x - 8y is 2 times 3x - 4y parallel lines, no solution

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Hint: consistent dependent means that one equation can be obtained by multiplying another, resulting in two parallel lines which are coincident. In other words, one equation is the equivalent of the other.

@mathmate I'm sorry but I really need an answer. I know it's against the rules, but my mother is going to beat me if I dont get this done.
