Helpful steps please. An equation of the terminal side of an angle theta in standard position is given. Find the indicated trigonometric function of theta. 2x+9y=0,x is greater or equal 0; Find cot theta. I tried solving it so far and I got : sqrt(85)/2 .

OpenStudy (danjs):

y = (-2/9 )x (cos(theta), sin(theta)) is the point on the unit circle, radius 1

OpenStudy (danjs):

where does y=-2/9 x intersect the unit circle , in the xy plane

OpenStudy (danjs):

that will be your point (x,y) = (cos(theta), sin(theta)) then cot(theta) = cos(theta) / sin(theta)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would cot(theta)= -9/2 ?
