I know the centroid theorem states that the centroid of a triangle is located two thirds of the medians distance from the vertex, so does that mean is it 2(AG)=1(GD)? I

OpenStudy (danjs):

o yeah, right The centroid divides each median into parts in the ratio 2:1, with the centroid being twice as close to the midpoint of a side as it is to the opposite vertex.

OpenStudy (danjs):

AG will be 2 times as long as GD

OpenStudy (danjs):

just set up that equation and solve for the x value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was what I thought ;p really was making sure, final for geometry tomorrow means x=6.28

OpenStudy (danjs):

no prob, had me look it up to remind myself, so something was gained at least. hah
