What is the volume of a sphere with a diameter of 12 inches? Use 3.14 for pi. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth. 904.32 in3 1599.65 in3 3500.12 in3 7238.20 in3

OpenStudy (bibby):

use the formula for a sphere's volume and solve for r

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the formula is V= 4/3 *pi * r^3 so first work out r^3 then multiply by 4 then divide by 3 then multiply by pi (3.14) then round ot the nearest 100th

Stilll dont understand can you help?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

I cannot be any clearer the formula for volume of a sphere is 4/3 * pi *r^3 so follow the steps I wrote above - each step is a simple multiplication (or division) I am not going to write the answer so try a little work for yourself

OpenStudy (mrnood):

r is the radius - you are told the diameter is 12" - so what is the radius?
