who is currently studying or i proficient in multivariable calculus and can be my new best friend/ study buddy :/ Because... I need one.. now.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

let's be friends :)

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

i might take linear algebra next sem...we can be freinds tooooo

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

start by posting an easy problem may be..

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

but i took multivariable calc 2 years ago

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you peeps! :) and yeah hold on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and ohhh linear.. ive heard all bad news about it. :(

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

shouldn't be too bad...compared to comp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so idk the "difficulty in this one.. use the cross product to find the area of the triangle with the vertices P=(1,1,5), Q=(3,4,3), R=(1,5,7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

only thing i got in this coconut is.... pair the points to create vectors then ||VxW|| then divide by two?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

|dw:1421742389158:dw|

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Yes! ||QP x QR|| gives the area of paralellogram formed by taking vectors QP and QR as adjacent sides dividing that by 2 gives the area of traingle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok! my confusion was how do you know if its QP or QR and not PQ and RQ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

it doesnt matter, we should get the same answer by taking any combination

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh. ok then hmm a couple more questions? :0 How late are you up?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

il be around for another hour or so...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by any chance do you have a cell phone to text? because lets just say ive recieved more feedback from you than anyone else

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you may message me or tag me anytime.. i live in india so im not sure if it is easy to text me hmm il pm you my skype id :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h. Cool. I rarely am able to skype but ill find the time :) Im going to try to do more problems. if i need help ill comment

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
