can someone check my answer?? Solve 2x2 + 12x − 14 = 0 by completing the square. A:2(x + 6)2 = 26; x = −6 +sqrt(16) , x = −6 − sqrt(16) B:2(x + 6)2 = 20; x = −6 +sqrt(20) , x = −6 −sqrt(20) C:2(x + 3)2 = 32; x = 1, x = −7 D:(x + 3)2 = 32; x = 13, x = 19 i think its C: 2(x + 3)2 = 32; x = 1, x = −7

OpenStudy (jack1):

c is correct! solving the equation using quadratic equation proves x = -7 and x = 1 are valid answers for this equation
