OpenStudy (brianissa):

What is the slope of a line parallel to line p?

OpenStudy (brianissa):

OpenStudy (igreen):

Parallel lines have the same slope..so all we have to do is find the slope on the graph and we will have our answer.

OpenStudy (brianissa):

when you find slope you use select any two points you would like?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Let's take points S and T and plug them into the slope formula. \(m = \dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\) \(m = \dfrac{3+3}{3+6}\) Simplify that

OpenStudy (brianissa):

6/9 then you would simplify it to make 2/3

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, so that's your answer.

OpenStudy (brianissa):

thank you
