OpenStudy (igreen):

What am I doing wrong..? This is supposed to be simple? -.-

OpenStudy (igreen):

OpenStudy (igreen):

I have to find the distance between the two dots using the 1 inch = 582.5 miles..

OpenStudy (igreen):

I get like 4 inches every time.. and 4 * 582.5 is 2330..but that's incorrect.

OpenStudy (igreen):

@ganeshie8 @hartnn @iambatman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can help u iGreen

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

i get 3 and 1/2 inches every time multiply that by 582.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 3

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

i got 3 and 1/2

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

3 1/2 inches is what i got

OpenStudy (igreen):

I think my answer is too low..

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

lemme google the actual distance as a reference

OpenStudy (igreen):

I did it's over 3,000 miles.

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

yea im pretty sure its 3 and 1/2 inches do that one

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

yea we are way off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3\frac{ 1 }{ 2}\times 582.5=5242.5\]

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

uhhh no

OpenStudy (igreen):

Actually..that's only 2038.75..

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

then idk what the answer is

OpenStudy (igreen):

I don't either -.- This is a stupid question

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

it should be around 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry accidentally did 9

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

ur not doing anything wrong, it's the question's fault, not your's

hartnn (hartnn):

maybe they've given miles on land, and you need to consider nautical miles to get the actual distance 1 nautical mile = 1 mile

hartnn (hartnn):

1.15** miles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }\times582.5=2038.75\]

OpenStudy (igreen):

I got a little before 5 inches this time..I marked out 1 inch on paper and did it..

OpenStudy (igreen):

@mathmath333 I tried that and put it in..it was wrong..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen get a ruler and try to measure it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that way we can get exact

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

\[2038.75 \times 1.15 = 2344.5\]

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

so nautical miles is out

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

if google is wrong than try @DiamondBear3299 's method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you someone actually recognizes me!!

OpenStudy (igreen):

I know, but I don't have one..

OpenStudy (igreen):

I just took a piece of paper and put it on the map and marked out 1 inch and kept it up..then I measured it..it's exact..I'll just go with this for now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go with what?

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

lol, smart

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

i got 4 doing your method green
