How does the berm differ from the beach face? (Oceanography)

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

Berm - The dry gently, sloping region at the foot of the coastal cliffs or dunes. Often composed of sand. Favorite of beach goers. Beach Face - The wet, sloping surface that extends from the berm to the shoreline. More fully exposed during low tide and also known as the low tide terrace. Favorite place for runners because the sand is wet and hard and packed.
