Identify the solution set of the inequality using the given replacement set. x < –2; {–5, –2.6, –2, –0.8, 1, 1.5} {–5, –2.6} {–5, –2.6, –2} { –2, –0.8, 1, 1.5} {–0.8, 1, 1.5}

What you do is replace x with each number inside the curly braces. For example, let's pick a number at random in that set. Let's say we pick x = 1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

x < –2 1 < –2 ... replace x with 1 Since the inequality 1 < -2 is false, this means x = 1 is NOT a solution to x < –2 So 1 is not part of the solution set
