Please help ! Given f(x)=x^2-6x+10, if f (a)=1 What is the value of a? A.5 B.3 C.2 D.1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

f(a) = 1 is the same as f(x) = 1. Just a change in variable

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

f(x) = 1 is given so we can replace all of f(x) with 1 f(x)=x^2-6x+10 turns into 1=x^2-6x+10
