Which of the following is the conjugate of a complex number with 2 as the real part and 7 as the imaginary part? 2 + 7i -2 - 7i -2 + 7i 2 - 7i Thanks!

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

"a complex number with 2 as the real part and 7 as the imaginary part" so the original number is 2+7i

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the conjugate of a+bi is a-bi you can flip it around and say the conjugate of a-bi is a+bi

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

basically you flip the sign of the imaginary part

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

original: 2+7i conjugate: ???

OpenStudy (raincloud):

2-7i ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
