need quick help!! very simple problem!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first step is to find the slope right?

OpenStudy (chosenmatt):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

If its very simple you should be able to do it correct lol ;) jk jk whatcha need lemme see hmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know it is such a simple problem i am just having a moment where i forget everything hahah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you need to find the slope first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(18,70) (24,100) and put that into y2-y1/x2-x1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which gives us 30/6=5

OpenStudy (chosenmatt):

what do you think ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is why im having issues because none of the answer choices give 5 as a slope so it must be the opposite coordinates

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but why do the coordinates have to be opposite? is there a rule when making the coordinate pairs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@chosenmatt im looking for help hah whats easy to you isnt always easy for everyone else.

OpenStudy (chosenmatt):

i never said it was easy 2 me....i said what do you think so i can help you from there....?.....

OpenStudy (chosenmatt):

what are you confuse with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay well i have solved the problem and have not gotten one of the answer choices. i found the slope and then took the point slope formula and plugged it into that and i got y=1/5x+32

OpenStudy (triciaal):

the weight is the independent variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me how you would solve the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because what i did must have been wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shortycme any ideas?
