What does the Constitution require for a candidate to be approved as a federal judge? The candidate must be a lawyer. The candidate must be 50 years of age or older. The candidate needs to have served previously as a judge in a state court system. There are no constitutional requirements for becoming a federal judge.

I am pretty sure there are no const. requirements. There are things the pres. looks for though but they are not const. laws
