Flower color in a particular plant species is determined by one gene. The alleles of that gene can code for either red flowers or blue flowers. When two such plants are crossed, however, some of the offspring produce purple flowers. What is the genotype of the plants with purple flowers? There is a "No Direct Answers" rule. that includes giving an explanation along with the answer. For multiple choice, you can help the user by hinting at the correct answer by giving an explanation that uses key words from the answer, or by leading the asker through the processes of elimination. :) hope this helps ^_^
