Why were groups such as the Federalists opposed to the War of 1812?

New England was against the war because it would interfere with their trade with England and France and other nations, Many maritime interests folded during the war. The Federalists were opposed to the war because most of their support came from the commercial capitalist class. The Federalists had always supported Great Britain as a commercial allie of the US.
