What is one piece of evidence that supports the idea that local government is more democratic than national government?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well if you look of the definition of democracy it will say something around the line of government that is run by the people. Furthermore, I would say that local government is more democratic because it is usually run by locals for locals; compared to national government where grant we the people elect those that in the national government but they is a greater span of people as opposed to local government where there are more sectors so to say. Does that make sense. It is much easier for people to influence their local government than the national government which related directly to democracy because it is all about the people and the influence they have on the government and the changes. Hope that helps some! :)
