How can i solve this problem y over 2.4 =5 i never have donw this type of problem before and i dont understand it at all

hey so does the problem look something like this|dw:1421984268700:dw|
if it is, then you would multiply 2.4 from both sides of the equation, because whatever you do to one side of the equation, you have to do that to the other side. you would then proceed to have an equation that looks like this: y = 5 (2.4) or y = 5 * 2.4 so then, y would equal to 12. y = 12 hope this helped :)
