Curious solving polynomial

OpenStudy (3psilon):

\[-x^{3}+10^{2}-33x+36=0\]

OpenStudy (3psilon):

How would one solve this? I was not really taught how

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!! i bet there is a typo

OpenStudy (3psilon):

oops \[-x^{3}+10x^{2}-33x+36=0\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

there is a formula for solving a cubic, but it is very long and hard to use usually these have been cooked up so the answers are integers

OpenStudy (misty1212):

easier to solve \[x^3-10x^2+33x-36=0\] check the divisors of 36

OpenStudy (misty1212):

unfortunately for you, there are tons

OpenStudy (misty1212):

by some miracle this is actually \[(x-4) (x-3)^2 = 0\] so it is easy to solve
