Can someone help me with this please? Solve the system of equations. 4x +3y = 13 y = -x +4 ( ? , ? )

Mathway.com is amazing and does just about anything. try there :)

OpenStudy (kamibug):

You are given the value of y in the second equation. So substitute that in for y in the first equation. 4x + 3(-x + 4) = 13 Can you solve that for x? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@KamiBug your a great tutor xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@KamiBug would x = 1?

OpenStudy (kamibug):

Correct! Now that we know what x is, we can plug it into either equation to solve for y. Let's use the second one. y = -(1) + 4 Solve for y. ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@KamiBug okay, would y = 3? :)

OpenStudy (kamibug):

You've got it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really? That's surprising for me haha. So the answer for the question would be (1,3) right?

OpenStudy (kamibug):

Lol, yup, that's perfect. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much for helping me with this! :D
