Give an example of a function. Give the relation as a set of ordered pairs. Use a test such as mapping or the vertical line test to show if your set of ordered pairs is a function. An example of a function could be: distance traveled and time, or the cost of a turkey and its weight. You can list your relation as a set of ordered pairs, or as a table.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Example of a function: y=2x+1 where x is a member of the set of real numbers. I'm assuming that the set of ordered pairs would be the set/domain where the solution(s) to the function are found. In this particular function the set would be the set of real numbers. Using the vertical line test, you first plot a graph of the function and draw a vertical line to show that injective or one to one mapping.
