HELP PLEASE!!
Equation #1 Equation #2 5x - 2x = 2x + 2 5x + 2 = 2x - 10 Help solve please!
5x-2x=2x+2 add the variables 3x=2x+2 get x on one side by subtracting 2x 1x=2 2 divided by 1=2 X=2
5x+2=2x-10 get x on one side by subtracting 2x 3x+2=10 Add 1 to 10 3x=12 divide 12 by 3 12/3=4 X=4
5x - 2x = 2x +2, simplify to 3x =2x + 2, subtract 2x from both sides and you get x = 2 for the second question 5x + 2 = 2x - 10, subtract 2x from both sides, 3x + 2= -10, subtract 2 from both sides a gain and 3x = -12, therefore x = -4 so: x = 2 and x = -4
Thanks guys!
You're welcome!
One more @roz_mar23 ?
ur welcome:) and yea ill try to help
Solve for x: -2|x - 3| = -12 x = -3, x = 4.5 x = 3, x = 9 x = -3, x = 9 or No solutions
it is the 3rd option, not the 2nd, sorry
-2|-3-3| = -12 -2|-6| = -12 -2(6) = -12 -12 = -12 -2|9-3| = -12 -2|6| = -12 -2(6) = -12 -12 = -12
-2[x-3]=-12 -2[-3-3]=12 so -3 isnt good -2[9-3]=-12 so 9 is good -2[4.5-3]=-3 so 4.5 isnt good -2[3-3]=0 so 3 isnt good its either x=-3 and x=9 or no solution
Ok yes @midgetmiles is right
It is the 3rd option
He was right! Thanks!
