Run-on Sentence

OpenStudy (tjbrew):

Please explain why it is a run-on sentence to help DaynaT12 understand the answer. The reason it is a run-on sentence is because there are two complete ideas joined together by a comma. A comma can never join two complete ideas. A "period mark" is needed to end the fist idea - If you want we can share a sandwich. I would love to try the hot pastrami. Or you could use a semi colon - If you want we can share a sandwich; I would love to try the hot pastrami. I hope this helps :) Good luck!
