I think it is D without the sentence. But the sentence would be nice.
I went ahead and searched for this question and came up with: Although it was old and needed a lot of work, Carla knew this was the house for her.
So from the sentence what is the answer?
Well it would be B then. Replacing the "it" with "the house" makes sense.
