i dont know where to put this Does a pound of gold or a pound of feathers weight more?
They are both a pound :)
yeah but which one wieghts more in ounces
gold i guess
gold in ounces that's odd to me lol
1 pound = 1 pound
if u put 1 pound of gold onto a scale if you put 1 pound of feathers on a scale
They both weigh 1 pound!
@MikeyMaximum
youre going crazy right now arent you
@sleepyjess
No, 1 pound of gold is the same as 1 pound of feathers. They are both 1 pound.
its gold..
feathers weigh like nothing, gold weighs a bunch.
The feathers. A pound of feathers is measured in avoirdupois weight, in which one pound equals 16 ounces. Precious metals are measured in troy weight, in which one pound equals 12 ounces.
Oh.
thank you @Nnesha
haha I thought you want chocolate @Nnesha
In avoirdupois weight, one ounce = 437.5 grains. In troy weight, one ounce = 480 grains. So, one pound of feathers weighs (16)x(437.5 grains) = 7,000 grains. One pound of gold weighs (12)x(480 grains) = 5,760 grains.
Hmmm... intersting :)
lol it says 1 pound so they are the same! But the gold will be a less amount and there will be more feathers to make the 1 pound.
i didnt know this
You're confusing density with weight @daphne101 Feathers are less dense than gold, so it takes more feathers to be the same weight as gold. But a pound of feathers and a pound of gold definitely weigh the same.
I think it is neither
