I want to make sure I have the answer correct . Which of the following is the conjugate of a complex number with 2 as the real part and 7 as the imaginary part? 2 + 7i -2 - 7i -2 + 7i 2 - 7i I want to say 2+7i but I'm not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think you might be right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean I look at it and it doesn't have any negative signs in it so that's the only one that fits.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

2+7i is the original number it is NOT the conjugate (so it's NOT the answer)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

original: a+bi conjugate: a-bi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh so it would be 2-7i?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
