I think this is a good idea, but there should be a time limit on it. For example, if you post a comment and notice a typo/error, you should only have 30 seconds to edit the comment. Also, mods should be able to see all edits of a comment.

This extension (for what I know) is only for chrome and you can use this to copy your answers, or quote another's. You can use this to tweek up the comment you made if you did something wrong , and just delete your post comment.

I think this is the fourth question suggesting it. The first people to comment will have an unfair advantage. People who give direct answers will later edit it. It will be hard to get proof against someones misbehavior.
