Fan and Medal! HElp me with five questions pls! What is the approximate volume of the cone? Use 3.14 for π. A. 6359 cm3 B. 1272 cm3 C. 2120 cm3 D. 4239 cm3 http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1299500_1300000/1299583/1/eb8c74d9448e1dd720d2449ad84890705bdfa9b7/143809.jpg

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

tp find the volume of a cone u use this forumla V=πr2h

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

so we plug this in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is ABOUT 2120.58

Nnesha (nnesha):

http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So its C, 2120

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

v=(3.14)(15)^2(9)/3= and we get 2120

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

@SkylarthekidRS please avoid giving direct answers please..... Thanks :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay! That's what I got! Thanks guys! 4 more?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

um sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll be a fan of you all but I'll give the medal to @jagr2713 because she answered first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[V = 1/3 \pi r ^{2}h\] \[1/3 * \pi * 15 * 15 * 9 = 2119.5 (\approx 2120)\]

OpenStudy (funnyguy2):

calculate everything here http://www.mathpapa.com/algebra-calculator.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, I'm new. It took me time to figure out how to insert equations and I had to use Google's calculator :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so here's the next one…...

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Welcome to OpenStudy @ArsalanAijaz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A cone has a base radius of 5 centimeters and a height of 18 centimeters. What is the volume of the cone? A. 150π cm3 B. 450π cm3 C. 30π cm3 D. 90π cm3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah! Lol, welcome, @ArsalanAijaz!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lemme try it and see what I get first

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

yea iw as just going to say that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm getting 471..

Nnesha (nnesha):

do you know the formula ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea, I think it's V=1/3 pi r^2h

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

we all did that but i am getting 471

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so I got…the same. Maybe we round?

Nnesha (nnesha):

okay then replace r = 5 and h = 18 and you have to find v right replace r and h by their values and solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was the first. 450's the nearest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol, i know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh no, I got A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

none of the answers is correct. but 450 is the nearest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did it step by step and at the end I divided 450 pi by 3 and I got 150cm3

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

but doesnt mean 450 can best answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But 5 times 5(r) in 25 and I multiplied 25 and 18(h) together and got 450. So then I divided it because remember it says one third at the beginning of the formula

Nnesha (nnesha):

what you got @Sexy_einstein

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got A. 150 cm^3

Nnesha (nnesha):

goood to go :)

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Great job

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay! Thanks!!!!!Okay, I hate doing this to you guys but I just have a couple more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I gotta bring my Casio

OpenStudy (anonymous):

shoot 'em

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the exact volume of the cone? A. in3 B. in3 C. in3 D. in3

Nnesha (nnesha):

if you know the formula i'm b\pretty formulas should be on notes then all u gotta do replace variables by their values thats' all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh wait, hold on i gott a give u the link

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll try it first again

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

u use the same foruma i gave you in the beginning

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

the answer choices are messed up it doesnt show

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

V=πr2h/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry. It's like this. A. 28 pi in^3 B. 56/3 pi in^3 C. 196/3 pi in^3 D. 196 Pi in^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got c. 196/3 pi in^3

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Great job :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay again! Lol. I think I got the hang of it but just to be sure, ca someone check my last two questions after I do them?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, for this one I got 103.6 What is the approximate volume of a cone with a height of 11 ft and radius of 3 ft? Use 3.14 to approximate pi, and round answers to two decimal places if necessary. ____ft3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean I got 103.67

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

what are the answer choice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is none…….unfortunatly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm finished! Thank you, thank you, thank you, to all that have helped! I wish I could give you all medals! :(
