I dont know what you mean by using pascal, but the theory behind it yesss in almost every language of computer science you will use the theory behind it.
OpenStudy (e.mccormick):
It is still taught at some levels, but generally not as an intro class. They use newer languages for most intros and leave older ones for comparison courses, compiler courses, and sometimes in advanced topics.
