How are communism and fascism alike? (Points : 2) In both ideologies, the economy is based on capitalism. Governments establish totalitarian control over the population. Individual liberties are more important than the greater good of society. Ownership of property and businesses by individuals is forbidden.

OpenStudy (ironpatriot):

Fascism and Communism both have some similarities but many differences. Communism is based on the overthrow of private property or capital and the creation of a stateless classless society one in which everyone is equal. In theory (though not often in practice) their is no government in a true communist society. Communism also rejects religion and notions of nation and race. In the real world Communist governments often turn into one party strongmen and no attempt to remove the government is made. Fascism is based on the Nation and that a strong leader is needed to lead it. Fascists often use Race or Religion to unite their people. Though the Fascist state has a powerful government it doesn't abolish private property. Fascism is also based on anti-communism and thus they end up fighting each other.
