OpenStudy Needs a DEBATE group. Just like there is math/ chem/ bio n all, we need a debate section too!!!!

Ok, I don't mean spamming and stuff but Issues that you could talk about and have people of various levels of experience and education answer.
I guess we could call it more of a discussion group where you can discuss things like Artificial Intelligence, cloning or even talk about old scientists and historials. Just a place where you can talk about something "cool"

I believe having a debate section have been suggested before, and the possible reasons why it was not implemented were:

1. It may cause conflicts/fights between users.
2. Possible usage of curse words, which is not good for the reputation of this site.
3. There will be lack of moderation for each debate posts/threads because mods/ambis are busy with moderating other things in OS like the chats.
4. The debate topics can also be a problem because they may offend other people.
5. Loading problems because of long posts.

I understand what you want to explain us.. debate which is related to studies that can also be useful.. for additional knowledge and etc.. but I think, you can use the chat boxes for that..This is just an opinion (:

debate wont be successful on the internet cause u need the charisma to charm people with ,in debate u need to make people choose sides with your knowldege plus persuasion which isnt easy here

If you are working on writing a speech for debate or working out topic points, use the writing section.

It would be a good idea but it would have to be very restricted especially subjects like religion, politics, and the like cause topics like that are never a good idea to debate.

also debate is not just about charisma, it is actually more like a game of chess but with words you could be exceedingly charismatic and not win a debate if you have no logic or proof to back your opinion

If you are doing test prep you can do that in any subject. For the math part, do the test prep in math. For the English part go to English. So on and so forth. Also, many sections have an AP area which is for AP test prep.
