@jagr2713

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need help explaining why though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sounds to me like you just have to explain how meiosis and reproduction works. How each of us gets half of our DNA from each parent.

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

why cant you people just answer the question

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

Yes hannah, Most people have 23 pairs of chromosomes for a total of 46. One of each pair comes from mom and the other from dad. This is why we are 50% related to our moms and 50% to our dads. You are also related to each grandparent by %25. your chromosomes are unique to you only, unless you have a twin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much you were a huge help @GirlgoyleH.

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

youre welcome :)

@GirlgoyleH. Give Help, Not Answers : I will encourage and guide those needing help, and not just give them an answer http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct That's why. Because we're supposed to give help for the person to find the answer on their own, not give the answers. It's something we all agreed to when we joined this site, but few actually do.

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

@PsychoTink, so hot were you supposed to walk her through this question? I gave her the answer AND explained it to her. Thats not against the rules

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was responding to the line above that where you said "why cant you people just answer the question".
