OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Write the expression without a radical.

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

\[\sqrt[4]{16a^6b^4}\]

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

I know 16 will be 2, b will be b, but what about a^6..?

Nnesha (nnesha):

remember you can change root to exponent like \[\huge\ \sqrt{x} = x^{\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }}\]

Nnesha (nnesha):

so \[\huge\sqrt[4]{a^6} = a^?\] another example is \[\huge\rm\sqrt[m]{x^n} = x^{\frac{ n }{ m }}\]

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

a^6/4?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

my answer key says 2/3 that's why im confused

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

@Nnesha

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

my answer key is wrong right?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

no way it's 2/3

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes that's right its suppose to be 3/2|dw:1422248026412:dw|
