There is nothing kind or unkind in a simple, factual statement of the rules of the site, so I have no clue where smile-child has developed the idea that there was something malevolent going on. As for what vector said, he started with "Please," a word commonly associated with being polite and therefore kind, then followed with a simple request.

smile-child, again, you are the only person bringing any negative statements into this. You have also completely misunderstood the situation. It is not customer service.

As a moderator I am more like a referee. When the referee says, "Your out!" they do not say, "I am very sorry, but that was your third strike. Under the rules of baseball that you claimed to have read when you signed up to play on this field, well, that is an out So now it is time for you to go back to the dugout." Instead, they just stick to the facts and say, "Your out!" because it is not a customer service relationship. It is a rule enforcement one.

In addition to discussion, I have other options like official warning as suspensions. However, those have negative impacts on the account, so I try discussion when I can.
