In Sassanian times, the same happened and at its greatest extent, the Persian empire of the Sassanids included Iran, most of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, the Balutchistan and Sind regions of Pakistan, Kuwait, Iraq, Armenia, Georgia (independent state but vassal to Persia), Chechnya/Ingushia, Daghestan region of Russia, Bahrein, Oman, Yemen, United Arab Emirates and eastern Turkey (Kurdistant region). Temporary conquests included the rest of Turkey, Syria, Palestine/Israel/Jordan/Lebanon, Egypt, much of Arabia.
