Which of these chemical formulasNaCl, O2, He, or SO2represents both an element and a molecule? (Points : 5) NaCl O2 He SO2

OpenStudy (m.d.saxon):

idk sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Helium and Sodium Chloride

OpenStudy (perl):

oxygen is an element, but it occurs naturally as a diatomic molecule

OpenStudy (aaronq):

i dont think this question makes sense, as a molecule needs to be at least 2 atoms. If it's more than 2 atoms, then it cannot be an element.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

^i agree, if you have to choose one, then choose \(O_2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am very confused...

OpenStudy (perl):

oxygen occurs in nature not as single atoms, but as two bonded oxygen atoms (its a molecule). but oxygen is still an element

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thank you :)
