The Chinese consider Confucius to be the Greatest Master. Which of these was most important to Confucius and is the basis of his teachings? Good deeds done on earth will be repaid in the afterlife. Spiritual devotion will allow good things to happen to a person. Individual ethics and obligations have the greatest value in life. Constant study and deeper understanding of the outside world are key.
