I have to do ''4 hours of community service'' for school and I wanted to know if this could count as it. It would make doing my service project easier and better for me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are required to complete 4 hours of community service over the course of the year. This project will count as your 5% participation grade. If you do not complete it, it will count as a 0 for participation. You must do a project that helps the community. This can include, but is not limited to, helping the elderly, working with an animal shelter, volunteering to help clean a national, state, or local park, or a canned food drive.

Oh then no :(

@satellite73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh... are you sure..................

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probably not :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You may ask your teacher's opinion, but I don't believe that helping out other students on Open Study would count. So, unless your teacher says that it is okay, then I suggest that you try one of the services listed above. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, thanks for your suggestion!! I'll see what to do. thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem! :) Your welcome!

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

i think this can get included as community service..:)

sammixboo (sammixboo):

There is a community service program or something like that here. @Preetha would know more about it though =)

sammixboo (sammixboo):

@ganeshie8 do you have any info about it?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Also, a couple of former ambassadors have used that as community service hours and a present one has also used it on college applications.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Looks like I was wrong, sorry for the misleading answer... But, it is cool to know that it does count as community service.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no prob @BlossomCake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would still double check with the teacher. Teachers have different ideas of what they are looking for, some might count it and others would not. Some would want you to do physical help in the actual community you live, some just want you to help other people.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Agreed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so...

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yes, it would be more correct to say that it can, not that it will. As shrutipande9 said, it can in her opinion. I gave examples of where it has. However, it will depend on what sort of confirmation is needed.
