I would like to tell you all a story but I don't know where to start or for that matter where to finish. Let's start from where most of it began.
It was a clear day except the only rays of light I could see were from my lonely window in my dark, cold prison cell. I was prisoner number 5746 and I was arrested for murder of the first degree. The problem is though, it wasn't me. I was framed for the murder of my 4 year old daughter! I suppose karma came back and bit me in the rear huh? Well, I suppose it isn't so bad here. I have all the time in the world to think about this situation and who would want to harm my social standing or for that matter my daughter. I sat on my thin mattress and stared at the wall, littered with scratch marks from a fork I used to track time. I lost track after 238. The dark, cold walls showed no promise of escape nor my small barred window. I turned my attention to my cell door when I heard approaching footsteps. It was my assigned guard. He let me out and I walked down the dark hallway. I passed screaming inmates and crying people who said they were framed, just like me. I found my way to the mess hall and sat down. Depression kicked in on day 56. I ate slowly, not very hungry and drank my small glass of water before going back to my cell. I sat on my bed and put my elbows on my knees, my head in my hands. At that point, I started to weep. My guard came and asked me if I wanted anything. I looked at him in surprise and told him I wanted a few books. He walked away, sadness, anger, and despair etched into each step he took down that long, dark, hallway. He came back a little while later with books he knew I would like. I thanked him and began to read when something caught my eye. It fell through the window of my cell and onto the ground. It was the doll I gave to my daughter the day before she was murdered, still covered in her blood.
