Why is it important to accurately predict the possible formation and path of a hurricane?

OpenStudy (slickster256):

@HelpBlahBlahBlah @Jesstho.-. @freckles @Abhisar @sammixboo @pooja195

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello. Do you have any selections?

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

If the hurricane was going towards your house, wouldnt you like to know?

pooja195 (pooja195):

well there can be many reasons such as saftey and maybe for recording purposes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Such as evacuating the area in the path of the hurricane? @Slickster256

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would do that.

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

Lets just a say, If there was a bunch of evil pokemons approaching youre city, wouldnt you want to prepare ur own pokemon to fight before they come?

OpenStudy (slickster256):

yes that is a good idea

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

You are the chosen one, @Slickster256 . Only you can save this world.

OpenStudy (slickster256):

How does the sea temperature affect hurricane formation?

OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):

The higher the sea surface temperature, the faster the warm, moist air rises into the atmosphere. This updraft creates a donut shaped vortex that is rising in the middle and going downward on the sides. The more moisture in the air (humidity), the stronger the vortex will become as the moisture rises through convective currents, cools, and falls through convective currents. This eventually causes rotation of the storm mass and you get a tropical cyclone. So, the high sea surface temperatures and humidity are actually the engine that forms a hurricane and causes it to increase in strength. High level horizontal winds can prevent a hurricane from forming. These are called shear winds and they literally blow the top of the cyclone off, preventing it from forming properly. The storm can still become a tropical depression or tropical storm, generating strong winds and rain. But, it never develops into a tropical cyclone.

OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):

Warming from below destabilizes the atmosphere above it just as cold air aloft does. Simple thermal dynamics

OpenStudy (slickster256):

will u help me with onther

OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):

medal please

OpenStudy (slickster256):

ill give u more if u help

OpenStudy (slickster256):

How does the amount of humidity affect hurricane formation?

OpenStudy (elonasushchik):

why medal? What about some real gold?! lol Jk

OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):

k

OpenStudy (slickster256):

ok ill give both

OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):

k wuts the Q?

OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):

Humidity is the amount of water in the air. A Hurricane needs humidity to develop. A hurricane starts off as a series of thunderstorms which intensify as it moves over the (warm) humid sea. The humidity is at a constant level and therefore continues to grow over the sea. Any sort of decrease or increase in humidity can change the strength of a hurricane. Too much or too little humidity and there will be no hurricane because the air become too saturated or too dry respectivley to form.
