what can i write about of the developing america from 1770s to early 1800 before civil war on the liberty and oppression?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well really the American Revolution would be one idea. You could really hit on the topic of how they were oppressed by Britain (Taxation without representation. Stamp Act, etc.). You really need to cover their development from British colonies to a new nation.

@Lady.Liv1776 hi, thanks for responding. I wish i can write about that, but my teacher says that anything after or during the constitution written.. is what i can write about. he's say it's a causation essay about the theme of liberty and oppression. What can i write about (claims) in my essay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause i know a lot about the rights/oppressions of people such as women, slavery, workers, immigrants and such. But will that be enough. Can i maybe incorporate other topics ? some topics are era of good feelings, presidenticy of adams, jefferson, washington. the market rev .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, yeah. That shouldn't be a problem. I would recommend looking up Jefferson's, Adams', and Washington's policies when they were presidents. Relate those ideals in how they helped developed and strengthen America's governmental structure. I think you definitely should incorporate the role of slaves, women, and workers. I know Abigail Adams wrote to her husband on addressing those topics. So maybe you shouldn't write a paragraph on it, but maybe just mention it, and quote her (if you need quotes). Because she does argue and plead for him to go to bat for those three groups.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would those ideas work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would i talk about those roles in one paragraph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How many paragraphs does it have to be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was thinking about writing about adam's sedition and alien acts. Thomas jefferson's embargo and non-intercourse act

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 main body paragraphs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also, since i don't have the question (cause it's an inclass essay) and it's a causation. do you think i would need to incorporate oppression and liberty?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, then I would separate those two (Adams and Jefferson) into two separate paragraphs. I think you should. If anything, that would be a good topic to use as the last paragraph, to wrap things up.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thanks.

:D

Anytime! :)
