Hellow, need some help. 5) x+y+2=0 x-y+6=0 6)2x-y=1 3x+2y-5=0 7)y-3x+2=0 2x+3y=10 8)5y-x=4 4x+2y-1=0 9)2x+2y-6=0 4y+3x=1 10)3x-2y=2 2x+4y=8 Thanks! Maybe a few examples would help. Just giving the questions! I'm only in seventh grade :( and i haven't learn't this yet by the teacher and this was our set homework. THanks in general!

These are related to simultaneous equations :)

5) x+y+2=0 x-y+6=0 So with these equations what you do is solve for one variable in one of the equations then plug that into the other equation. So I will do a example for you. x = y - 6 y - 6 + y + 2 = 0 combine like terms 2y - 4 =0 solve for y 2y = 4 y=2 Now plug y=2 into either of the equations to find the value of x. I will use equation x-y+6=0. x -2 + 6 = 0 x =-4. So the answers will be x =-4 and y=2 You will do this for all your equations you posted on here.

^^ Thats probably not the question but it wasn't the correct asnwer. Can you do one for an example?

OpenStudy (snowsurf):

I did number 5.) for you already. Those should be the correct answer I double checked it. Is the homework asking you to fin y and x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can tell you the answer what my tutor says

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh crap, i am so sorry :(. It is. i was reading the wrong question. Sorry for wasting your time D:

OpenStudy (snowsurf):

Its okay. It happens a lot.

7) y-3x+2=0 2x+3y=10.. I'm do one more for you. I'm doing number 7. y-3x+2=0 ... lets solve for y so the equation will become y =3x - 2 Now substitute into 2x + 3y = 10 2x + 3(3x - 2) =10 2x + 9x -6 =10 11x = 16 x = 16/11 Now plug in x into either of these equations. 2(16/11) + 3y =10 32/11 + 3y = 10 3y = 78/11 y =78/33 So the answer is y = 78/33 and x =16/11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh hey again. I am really sorry but i don't get this 'topic' much! So if your x or y has a number.... what do you do? Like in the beginning?

OpenStudy (snowsurf):

You just isolate the variable like I did in the two examples.
