HELP FOR MEDAL!!! What was the ultimate cause for the conflict and later charges that were brought against Leschi? Leschi was appointed Chief of the Nisqually tribe for treaty negotiations, and he was very unhappy with the treaty terms. Leschi met with Indian Agent Josh Swan at Fox Island.
